New Music Festival hosted by FNMC

FNMC is now accepting applications to intern for our third New Music Festival taking place October 23-25, 2026 at Oklahoma City University. The New Music Festival will include workshops, performances, lectures, and networking events for musicians and composers. We welcome applications from music students of any instrument and arts administration students.
Requirements:
1. Interns must be available on site starting at noon on Friday, October 23, at 12:00 p.m to Sunday, October 25, at 2:00 p.m. Applicants who are not available for the entire duration are ineligible. Duties may include serving as door monitor for events or the exhibit hall, checking in participants at the registration desk, and/or logistical support such as room setup and teardown between events.
2. Applicants must have the ability to lift 25 pounds or more.
3. Applicants must submit the Application Form with:
Internship pays a $150 stipend and includes a shared hotel room for the duration of the convention if residence is more than 20 miles from OCU.
Application Deadline:
September 1, 2026, 11:59 p.m. CST. Those accepted to the internship program will be notified via email by September 15, 2026. Interns are responsible for providing their own transportation to and from the festival.

- A one-page cover letter that includes the following:
- The skills and experience you have that would contribute to the successful completion of this internship and to the success of the convention.
- What you hope to accomplish by doing this internship and how the internship would enhance your studies and career.
- Your strongest skills and attributes (such as people skills, communication, or being organized) besides your musical skills.
- Resume
- List of two references with their contact information (email + cell phone) who can speak to your work ethic (this can be added to your resume for ease of uploading)
